Developing Nordic Cities

Residence Botkyrka is situated in of of the Swedish million programme areas, Fittja. This area is now renovated for the first time in 30 years and Residence Botkyrka researches the role of contemporary art in this process of change.

 

Through a specific Nordic program, Developing Nordic Cities, Residence Botkyrka operates for an interchange of knowledge on art, architecture and city planning in a Nordic context.

 

Residence Botkyrka supports context-based projects by artists and architects which are difficult to realize without a longer stay. The program is a way to gather and spread knowledge on art, architecture and city planning both in local and international contexts.

Residence Botkyrka is run by Botkyrka konsthall, with support from The Foundation for the Culture of the Future, in collaboration with the City Planning Department in the municipality of Botkyrka, the Multicultural Centre and the housing corporation Botkyrkabyggen.
