Open Call


Residence Botkyrka invites artists, architects, activists and others of interest to the residency program to apply for a one to two months residency in Fittja, Botkyrka through the Nordic residency program Developing Nordic Cities.

Satellite City - Isabel Löfgren and Erik Krikortz, 2011


Current resident Isabel Löfgren realizes the project Satellitstaden, a research-based site-specific installation inspired by all the satellite dishes covering the façades of the buildings in Fittja. Artist Bezhad Khosravi Noori investigates the discourse of Multiculturalism since 1976 (beginning of Swedish Multiculturalism) in Swedish television “SVT” and the way that “hyperpoliticized” societies (Middle East) are presented.

Fittja Open 2011


Fittja Open 2011 is Residence Botkyrka's annual presentation of public art. The exhibition opened on September 10 with presentations, performances and pizza. Fittja Open and Botkyrka konsthall was nominated to Nöjesguiden's annual Stockholm prize in the art category.

Developing Nordic Cities


Through a specific Nordic program, Developing Nordic Cities, Residence Botkyrka operates for an interchange of knowledge regarding art, architecture and city planning in a Nordic context.

Residence Botkyrka is run by Botkyrka konsthall, with support from The Foundation for the Culture of the Future, in collaboration with the City Planning Department in the municipality of Botkyrka, the Multicultural Centre and the housing corporation Botkyrkabyggen.
